The Art of It

It’s that time of year again, when artists and art lovers from all over the world meet in Miami to celebrate artistic expression in all its forms. On December 1-4 Art Basel 2016 features art from 200 plus leading galleries from Africa, Europe, Asia, North and Latin America. What’s more is that all across Wynwood on every corner, walls are transformed with contemporary and emerging artists creating the new Wynwood backdrop for 2017. Kyu By Kesi will be launching The Melting Pot Movement during Basel and I could not be more excited. The Melting Pot Movement is the platform through which Kyu by Kesi expresses its social mission putting the transformation of culture through art in focus. In the spirit of preserving work from Art Basel 2015 we have included below a spread of photos shot by Carl Bullard for the Kyu By Kesi – “The Art of It” campaign. There’s more! Couldn’t make it to Basel this year? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Preview the highlights daily and learn more about the untold narrative of a global people through the lens of fashion, beauty, music and contemporary art here! #OnTheKyu

Multiculturalism, collectivism individualism and inclusive diversity will continue to re-frame the discourse on humanity and culture, with the digital revolution increasing the relevance of the artist. Sharing the individual stories behind each work of art encourages a deeper human connection. For full photo albums and special features visit:

On October 16, 2016 Kyu By Kesi opened the Kyu By Kesi Boston Fashion Studio. We are thrilled to be the only fashion retailer to be featured in the iconic Boston Design Center, located at One Design Center Place, Boston, MA, 02210. If you are in Boston you will want to stop by Suite 204. We look forward to sharing the World of Kyu with you. It should be noted that from October 1, 2016 – September 1, 2017, 10% of all sales from our Boston location or from our E-Boutique at with code SCFGONKYU will be allocated to Science Club For Girls to help support SCFG STEM mission.

Kyu By Kesi is big on community engagement and impact, with a heightened focus on artists , women and girls. We remain inspired by SCFG and their mission to foster excitement, confidence, and literacy in STEM for girls, particularly from underrepresented communities. Founded in 1994 as a single kindergarten club, SCFG now engage more than 240 mentors and over 1,200 girls in grades K-12 each year, with 80% of participants coming from racial or socio-economic backgrounds that are underrepresented in STEM fields. Follow the progress here and #KyuByKesi or #STEMinSTYLE

We are particularly excited about the Kyu By Kesi Boston Fashion Studio as our strategic location and generally store concept lends itself to inspired salon activation. At the launch of our concept store we took on the challenge to play a leadership role in the promotion of ethical and sustainable fashion globally and in Boston in particular from this venue. We’ve already had our first Ethical Fashion Salon on November 17, 2016 which took on a life of its own. See album from this and all our engagements on our faceboook page:
